As a company, Space is always striving for greater performance and environmental sensitivity in its design and build. We’re continually looking for solutions to make offices more efficient – and that includes our own.
On projects
We’re already doing a lot.
In our design, it means optimising spaces and their functionality, and designing out things that don’t need to be there. For example: improving natural lighting; installing dimmer and other controls; building in energy saving devices; and using durable, non-polluting materials.
On site, we aim to use resources efficiently; reduce and recycle as much waste as possible; dispose of materials in an environmentally responsible manner; set up partnerships with local suppliers and minimise deliveries.
For furniture, we have trusted relationships with supply companies that have ISO 14001 accreditation for environmental management. In fact, by 2010 we hope all of our specialist suppliers will have their own sustainability policies.
